Community INITIATIVES
Hyne Community Trust
As a major employer of the Tumbarumba region, the Hyne team are passionate about giving back and providing lasting benefits to the area in which so many employees and their families live and work.
Alongside our annual sponsorship and donations framework, we have also established the Hyne Community Trust. Unique to the Tumbarumba region, this initiative aims to support community projects valued over $10,000.
Established in 2007, the Hyne Community Trust has provided approximately $800,000 to the Tumbarumba community to date, focusing on initiatives which provide lasting benefits to the community. These projects include but are not limited to the extension of the Carcoola Children's Centre, construction of the local Men's Shed, and even a new generator for local SES volunteers.

"The Hyne Community Trust serves to support our local organisations in the Tumbarumba region, to deliver lasting benefits for our community. We have helped to deliver some great projects over the years and one of my favourite yet toughest jobs in the annual calendar, is shortlisting applications from so many good submissions. Seeing projects come to fruition is incredibly rewarding for myself, the Trust Committee and Hyne Timber as a business."
- Kerrie Downes, Chair, Hyne Community Trust
