Hyne Design is a handy tool for those designing timber structures from Builders to Engineers. The app will complete complicated engineering equations for you, assisting you to specify the right products for each application, with the benefit of comparing products from major manufacturers.

User Access Levels

Hyne Design offers tiered access to ensure that the appropriate features are available to each user type. To access General Structural Design (including builds with pitched roofs beyond 30 degrees, or walls higher than 3m) and design outside of the AS1684 building standards for residential design, users must be able to meet the criteria as highlighted in the table below.

Training & Assessment

Join our technical expert for online training and assessment, which is required for Advanced and Estimator/Detailer access. Please ensure you complete the Hyne Design online registration before completing the training.

How to access existing projects

Projects created in Hyne Design 7.6 and earlier cannot be accessed in Hyne Design online. '.HDJ' files are accessible on the new web-based version and older file formats can be converted using our new Hyne Design file converter.

To convert these files, simply:
1. Download our file converter
2. This will download an .exe file. Open this file and select 'Install'.
3. Once the install is finished, you can find it in your apps or by searching 'Hyne Design File Converter'.
4. To use the file converter simply select 'Add Files' and open the files you would like to convert. Then select 'Set Out Path' to choose where you would like files to save once exported. Ensure the correct country is selected.
5. Finally select 'Go' and the files will be converted.
